Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. – Proverbs 18:21
With it, we bless our Lord and Father, and with it, we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
– James 3:9-10
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip. – Psalm 37:30-31
Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul, and health to the body. – Proverbs 16:24
Let me love every word that I speak. If my words hold no grace, then they hold destruction. Pray for my enemies, for the worst of them require gracious words the most greatly. The manifesting power of the tongue is nothing to be taken for granted or underestimated in its strength to change the world and others. Rightly handled, words delivered at the right moment can change the course of a person’s life forever, inspiring the most unlikely soul to great feats. The power of speech may deliver deliverance itself. For how does it feel for both the sender and the receiver to tell them honestly, “You are forgiven.” Every spoken word is a prayer. What am I praying about today? Bless. – Shawn Greathouse
