Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
– Luke 13:24
Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. – Matthew 7:13-14
Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. – Jude 1:3
Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, – Philippians 1:27
Let us live a life worthy of the truth, striving together to enter by the narrow gate. Out of so many, how many do we know who works to maintain conscious contact with God, who take the time to quiet the storm within themselves? Who works to adhere to the principles of God as if on a tight rope? Who’s kind even when not asking for something, who’s truly kind when seen in person, or absent? It is a tall order to keep the faith and to embody love in a fallen world. It is possible, though, as all things are possible with God. Though narrow may be the door of safe spiritual passage, it’s ever right before us if we’ll but pay close attention soberly and take to heart the keys we’ve been granted. Waiting long and stepping or speaking well once to good effect and gaining passage to the life that follows. Bless.
